Capsule hotel? you might over heard of it, but have you ever stay at this kind of accommodation. Same here lol Today I’m going to share my experience of staying in The Grids hostel and lounge Akihabara.

“A capsule hotel (カプセルホテル kapuseru hoteru?) is a type of hotel developed in Japan that features a large number of extremely small “rooms” (capsules) intended to provide cheap, basic overnight accommodation for guests who do not require the services offered by more conventional hotels.” – Wikipedia

To this hostel only take 6-minute walk from Akihabara Station on Tokyo Metro subway Hibiya Line.

Take exit 4 (near the Kanda bridge)

Walk along the family bazzar which called 岩本町・東神田ファミリーバザール

Hours : Fri-Sun / 9:00-17:00

They offer lunch(11:30〜14:30), dinner(18:00〜22:30), cafe (7:00〜24:00).

This is my room, the room type is private single. The room is separated by walls and a curtain.(no door)

Pros : cheap, more space than POD, in room locker, window and street view, no need to climb up and down.

Cons : No door, shared bathroom(compared with regular hotel), food and beverage are not allowed.
